Robert Wright-Stasko This album is like an acid metal version of the "Forbidden Planet" soundtrack. It grinds the rough edges off of your brain. I highly recommend it. Favorite track: Stage 2: Systems Failure Imminent.

about

Fervent Theremin is the debut album of Moram Phessefi and finds the duo exploring forbidden zones of heavy electronic noise using theremin, cracklebox, and an assortment of effects pedals. Fervent Theremin evokes the final transmissions of a doomed droid — a sci-fi elegy of mechanical failure and digital decay from an astromech orbiting the depths of the darkest star. Heavy washes of digital noise and harsh choking computer convulsions tremor and tremble as mechanized sentience screams its fervent fulminations in the face of the void.

Moram Phessefi is the amalgamation of Akron artists Morgan Phelps (Co_conspirator, Operation Tomorrow, solo) and Ram Youssefi (Zurvan, Dolph Lundgren, Doom Christ, RCN & CAVE co-founder). Fervent Theremin finds Phelps playing theremin & effects pedals and Youssefi playing an Ordaleem cracklebox on Stages 1+2, for Stage 3 the instrumentation was reversed.

Presented as a limited edition compact disc packaged in a DVD case w/ insert. Artwork by Ram Youssefi using generative AI software to create a computer vision of the duo’s namesake. Download includes bonus artwork.
